This week’s topic: Chapter 20 of “Change your thoughts, Change your life. Living the wisdom of the Tao” by Wayne Dyer
Give up learning and you will be free of all your cares
So starts the 20th verse of the Tao Te Ching. Often the saying to empty your cup is used as a reference for being able to learn. By being at the source of creativity, we can be one with the source of knowledge.
Yes and no, good and evil. What is the difference?
“Should I fear darkness?” “Should I fear desolation where there is abundance!?” When he says “should I fear the darkness when that light is shining everywhere” he counters with “No mind, no worries,…”
He asks, “Must I fear what others fear?” and answers with “While others rush about to get things done, I accept what is offered.”
He says “I am drifting, not knowing where I am“. “Like a wave on the ocean, blowing as aimless as the wind.
He refers to being a fool,..an empty vessel, drifting alone like a new born baby, without a place to go, referring again to the Taoist concept of remaining the “uncarved block”.
He is as a guest simply accepting this World. He accepts that which is offered,..”most people have too much“. But he compares his mind to someone ignorant, wishing to retain innocence. Preferring to be alone, stubborn, remaining outside of the norm, and knowing to take sustenance from the Great Mother of 10,000 things.
